Count and Noncount Nouns
Count Nouns : the nouns that you can actually count , like cars , you can count
1 car
2 cars
3 cars
Noncount Nouns : nouns that you can't actually count , like Traffic
you can't say
1 traffic
2 traffic
3 traffic
its uncountable
car is singular countable noun
cars is plural countable noun
a group of 10 cars in z street .. we can call it a traffic
traffic is non countable ( cars ) noun
another example :
apple ,,
we can count 1 apple
or 2 apples , 3 apples
apple is singular
apples is plural << we add (s) to the end
with the singular countable nouns we say :
There is one apple
with the plural countable nouns we say :
There are 5 apples
fruit is uncountable noun
can mean group of different fruit
or group of 5 apples ,, << some fruit
with the uncountable nouns we always use ( is )
there is fruit on the table
the contraction for ( There is )
There's
There're

Question about count and non count nouns
with the count noun we use :
How Many
for example : How many apple on the basket ?
with the uncountable nouns we use
How much
for example : How much fruit is there ?
the answer on these questions :
How many apples on the basket ?
there is one apple on the basket . << only one apple on the basket
there are five apples on the basket . << theres exactly 5 apples on the basket
there aren't many apples on the basket. << there are a small number of apples on the basket
there aren't any apple on the basket . << there is 0 apple in the basket
How much fruit is there ?
there's a lot of fruit there << big amount of fruit
there isn't much fruit << small amount of fruit is there
there isn't any fruit << there's 0 fruit
